Here is “BIRTHDAY BAMA LAMA”, a self published perpetual birthday calendar featuring 365 musical acrylic portraits painted by Artist / DJ Olaf Jens over a period of 2 years on 3.5″ x 5″ wooden panels. This bigger than big project is a tribute to musicians he admires.
A “perpetual” calendar is not a regular calendar. It provides birthdays without mentioning a specific day of the week or year. You can use it until the end of time. A must for freaky record rooms anywhere!
Olaf Jens is an Artist and DJ who has had radio shows since the late 80’s, and played at many clubs and festivals in the US and Europe, spinning mainly Garage Punk and Rock ‘N’ Roll. His signature Rock ‘N’ Roll art has appeared on numerous album covers for various record labels across the planet, including Crypt, Munster, Modern Harmonic, Get Hip, Slovenly, Trailer Park, Southern Routes, Ghost Highway, BE-Sharp!, Lynx Rufus, Chaputa, and Groovie. He made illustrations for KVMR, David Kulczyck’s “California’s Deadliest Women” true crime book, Sacramento News & Review, Sleaze Fest (NL), Gun Club drummer Terry Graham’s biography, and his own zines De Daglozekrant and Olabla.
